Entering into an agreement with Punch Taverns can be achieved in two ways, which are summarised below:

1. Applying for a vacant position

This is the most commonly chosen route for people entering the trade, and is the area we look at throughout the majority of this site. This is where you apply to us to run a leased pub and become a Punch licensee. If successful, we then provide you with all our current vacant opportunities for you to choose from, once you've identified a pub we can then proceed with the selection process. As mentioned, all information is contained within this site, and our agreement can be viewed by clicking our agreement.

2. Transfer

An important feature of the agreement is the ability for our licensees to transfer or sell their agreement after two years. These agreements are placed on the market at a price referred to as a transfer premium. This premium represents your required payment for the value of their business. Certain individuals who join Punch Taverns do so by acquiring a transfer from one of our existing licensees. We may be able to introduce you to potential sellers of their business at and during the recruitment process. For more information, read our guide to transfers.
