 Running your own pub business

Do you have the skills to be successful?

Many people dream of running their own pub one day but not all of us really have the skills needed to make a success of a pub as a business.

Running a pub can be great fun and very rewarding but is also very hard work involving long hours and a relentless commitment to customer service and quality.

Successful pubs today almost certainly need to offer food as well as drink alongside a regular program of entertainment to attract customers out of their homes.

If you have experience working in a customer facing environment you will recognise the skills needed to succeed. If you don’t have this experience you should definitely consider working as an employee in an established pub or hospitality business before deciding to run your own pub business.

Many people will have worked in the pub industry already and know that they have great front of house skills but may not have experience of the management skills needed to run their own business.

If you decide to take a pub with Punch we can provide the training you need to support you but you must also take independent professional advice before signing a rental agreement with us.
